Need a suggestion on finding a job!
My friend has a master degree in India and worked in India for 6 months in Seimens before coming to US. Now she has EAD and would like to start working. Its been 3 years she left India and been idle.
She would like to start as a fresher / jr in IT though she has little experience.
When I asked a couple of guys, they suggested to approach Desi consulting companies.
From what I heard, they train and put up some fake exp and then apply for jobs (and of course need to sign a contract). But she doesn't like that.
I know a lot of people are in this situ too. I believe some of you have been here for a long time and have dealt with desi and US consulting companies. Some of you guys have good insight into these matters as well.
So what do you guys suggest?

The POE issue must be taken seriously, God forbid if you have family emergency, and you are on H1B, will you take the risk and travel, and even if you have to when you return you realise that your employer says that he has qualified US citizen from programmers Guild to replace you.

When prominent business houses like Microsoft, Google, Cisco, Oracle and organizations like AILA seem powerless when it comes to influencing senators, lawmakers and government organizations like USCIS and DOS, what can IV team do to change the policies. I'm not sure what the controversy is : The I-485 application instructions clearly say (http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-485instr.pdf) that for an employment-based (I-140 based) AOS application, you have to provide the employment offer letter as initial evidence.

At the risk of getting red dots. let me give my two cents. All the flower campaign and protests worked when USCIS did a screw up, this time around it's not USCIS thats screwing up it's the DOS that allocates the # of visas.
No point sending USCIS flowers. And honestly. Everyone except India EB3 and China EB3 are in good shap they will get their GC's within 5 years which is not a bad wait. Chinese people are not like Indians they come here and hardly go back to their home country so they dont care. It's only India EB3 that is significantly affected and in this uncertain times no one cares about a small chunk of India EB3 and That is the Fact.
And it's preposturous to think that DOS and USCIS are not aware of this. They are very well aware of this and they dont give a damn about us. I know certain people will come here shouting what did u do for that cause.. U can make calls write letters but INDIA EB3 is not the priority for anyone right now. we are the least in the chain.
Whoever has approved 140 can bite the bullet and switch jobs if they want to.. The best one can hope for is things could become different with the economy going up and a change of government.

Guys,
After responding to the RFE last week, I have been seeing continous LUDs on my 485. They were on 10/8, 10/9 and today on columbus day 10/11. There was also one when they registered my RFE response on 10/6.
And to add to that I received a FP notice for both spouse and myself but the date isn't until after 3 weeks. Can I get the FP done early? I don't want them to sit on my application for another 3 weeks just because they are waiting for my FP.

My friend I have seen many things in my 45 years life. But never have I seen as much bullshit in one post. If you are so smart that your invention could lose $3 billion in a quarter, why are you unemployed for last 1 yr? If you don�t have a job it has got to be someone else�s fault, right? It is not the first time we got call..our case have been moved to Local office sometime in 2008..since then we got calls few times..asking for this document..that document..verification..saying we are consolidating etc etc...
